Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of yfull.ai, a service operated by Genetic History S.L.U. They form an agreement between you and us. By creating an account, placing your sample, or using the service, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Notice and our Refund Policy, which are part of this agreement.
Who we are
yfull.ai is operated by Genetic History S.L.U., CIF B24962573, a company registered in Spain, with registered office at Calle Aribau 168, 1-1, 08036 Barcelona, and registered at the Mercantile Registry of Barcelona, sheet B-646398. The service
yfull.ai places the DNA data you provide onto the YFull tree — a phylogenetic tree the YFull team has curated since 2014 — and generates a historical-context narrative report about your deep-ancestry haplogroups. The one-time €15 placement covers placing your sample on the tree and producing your report. An optional €5/year subscription keeps your access and updates current. What we can determine depends on the DNA data you provide.
Who can use yfull.ai
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. You may submit only your own DNA data, or data you have the clear right to submit; do not submit another person's data without their informed consent.
Your account
Keep your login details secure and your account information accurate. You're responsible for activity under your account. One person, one account.
Your data and your consent
yfull.ai processes genetic data, which is a special category of personal data. We process it on the basis of your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) of the GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time (Article 7(3)). How we handle your data — what we collect, the sub-processors we use, the cross-border transfer involved in generating your report, how long we keep it, and all your rights — is set out in full in our Privacy Notice. That notice is the authoritative description of our data processing; these terms do not replace it.
Use of AI
Your report, and the help you receive in the service, are produced by an AI system operated by Genetic History S.L.U., working under human oversight. We tell you this plainly so you always know when you are interacting with, or reading content generated by, AI (European Union Artificial Intelligence Act, Article 50). The AI operates within defined limits and keeps a record of how each report is produced so it can be reviewed, and a member of our team can step in at any time. Because your report is an interpretation — our best historical-context reading of your DNA, not a statement of certain fact — parts of it are written with appropriate confidence rather than as guarantees. You can ask for a person to review anything at any time. Generating your report involves sending a limited, pseudonymized set of data to an AI provider outside the EU; how that transfer works and how it is protected is explained in our Privacy Notice.
This is not medical advice
Your report is a historical-context interpretation of your DNA. It is not a medical or diagnostic result, and it should not be used for health, medical, or treatment decisions. yfull.ai provides historical-context ancestry narrative only — it is not a medical device and is not subject to the In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2017/746) under its Article 2(2) scope, and it is not biomedical research and keeps no biobank registry (Ley 14/2007).
Payment, placement, and refunds
The €15 placement is a one-time charge; the optional €5/year subscription renews yearly until you cancel. When you ask us to place your sample on the tree, you're asking us to carry out and deliver that work straight away — once it's done it can't be undone, so that is the point of no return for a refund. Refunds, your 14-day statutory right of withdrawal, and how and when we pay you back are set out in our Refund Policy.
Acceptable use
Use yfull.ai lawfully and as intended. Do not misuse the service, attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer it, access other users' data, or use it to infringe anyone's rights.
Intellectual property
The yfull.ai platform, the curated YFull tree, and the way reports are generated are owned by Genetic History S.L.U. or the YFull team and are protected by law. Your DNA data remains yours. We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to use your report for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as is, and your report is an interpretation, not a guarantee of any specific result. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we limit our liability for the service. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, or any of your mandatory rights as a consumer (Article 10 of the Spanish consumer law, Real Decreto Legislativo 1/2007).
Your statutory rights
Nothing in these terms reduces your rights as a consumer under Spanish and EU law, including your 14-day right of withdrawal (see the Refund Policy). If something goes wrong, you can also turn to the Spanish consumer-arbitration system (Sistema Arbitral de Consumo) or your regional consumer authority.
Changes, and closing your account
We may update the service and these terms; if a change is significant, we'll let you know. Continuing to use yfull.ai after a change means you accept the updated terms. You can close your account at any time; what happens to your data when you do is explained in the Privacy Notice. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes fall to the competent courts in Spain, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rule that lets you bring a matter before the courts or consumer body of your own EU country of residence.
